Without these people we would not have such a recorded history of our breed and pedigrees... and there are many more...

If you have an image that you would like to add, please email me.

Please also give credit to the following breeders without whom we would not have such wonderful animals in our dogs' pedigrees (listed in alphabetical order):

Dorothy Zablocki - Zablocki / Hi-Ho

The Zablocki kennel was in Wisconsin, owned by Dorothy Zablocki. The Hi-Ho name is also theirs.  Snoflash - Julie Hunt of Kalamazoo no longer have eskies, Wright's is Theresa Wright, also in Michigan.  Aqua Mist Royal Echo - Aqua Mist was owned by Ginger Paulsen, Reno, Nevada.  She bought Echo from Mike Baker of Royal Kennel; then purchased by Monica Sellers, Sweetwater Ranch, California.  Royal Princess Kitrina - originally a Jo-Em dog, purchased by Mike Baker, then sold to Diana Richardson Allen.

On August 13, 2005 I received the following email from Theresa Wright:

"Hi Sally,

My, you have some very old pictures on your page.  It's nice!  It brings back lots of old memories for me.  There was a very small group of dedicated breeders back in the early 80's.  You've mentioned most of them, but there are a few more that had an impact on the breed by refining type and selective breeding.

I spent years researching the breed at UKC, went to Europe to research the Spitz breeds, and had 20 years worth of dinners and ringside conversations with other breeders, judges, National officers.  Being from Kalamazoo, I was often in the company of Fred Miller of UKC.  Perhaps the time is right to organize the filing cabinets filled with notes and info from the past.  Your effort is inspiring.

Just a note about the Kandikane kennel name - it was a name that Ron Lewis used.  Ron's wife liked "Kandikanes" and Ron liked plain Lewis, so there you have it.  Ron and his wife were teachers and they had great fun with their dogs. They spelled it with a "K".   I don't think it belonged to Sandi Sauceda, although back in the very early 80's, breeders often exchanged dogs and both Sandi and Ron had a very good eye for conformation and temperament."

Sincerely,
Theresa Wright
